In her first feature debut, Croatian writer/director Sonja Tarokić heads back to school - only to find out that some things never change!

Set in a contemporary Croatian high school, lead character Anamarija is excited to be starting her new job as a school counselor but entering the close-knit community of teachers proves harder than expected. Issues come to a head when she starts questioning the methods of one of her colleagues.

The resulting power dynamics force Anamarija into a rancorous conflict with her peers, school leadership and parents.

Sprawling and ambitious, THE STAFFROOM is an Altmanesque study of society in microcosm and an enviably mature and accomplished piece of cinema from a provocative new auteur.
